Pilot Credits Coming Soon

March 7, 2008 - UPDATE: The 2007 Young Eagle Pilot Credits are in the mail. They should be delivered by March 15, 2008.

EAA Aviation Center, Oshkosh, Wis. – February 1, 2008 – As sure as the groundhog will try to predict the end of winter and the swallows will return to Capistrano, February marks the month when Young Eagle pilots receive their credit certificates earned during 2007.

Each pilot who flies and registers 10 or more Young Eagles during the calendar year, earn credits for each Young Eagle they fly. These credits can be used to help offset the cost of sending a young person to one of EAA’s
Air Academy sessions this summer.

The credits have a value of $1 each and can be used for up to half the cost of sending a young person to a camp. Many EAA Chapters pool their credits to maximize the available scholarships available to local young people. Others return their credits to the Young Eagles office where they are added to a scholarship pool available to deserving Air Academy applicants.

The actual credit certificates will be mailed in the next few weeks. Credits for those pilots belonging to a Chapter will be sent in bulk to the Chapter’s coordinator. Pilots not affiliated with a Chapter will receive their credit certificates personally. It is important to note that the credit certificates cannot be duplicated and you should treat them as money when they arrive.

If you have questions about the credit program, please contact the Young Eagles office (877) 806-8902 or
E-Mail our office
