EAA Young Eagles - Ask the Expert

Question :
Is there any other way to become a pilot in the military other than going to
college for four years? I have already starting flying through a flight
school, but am looking into other options. Thanks, Rebekah

Answer :
Yes, by joining the National Guard in the State where you live. The
Military Reserve(Army, Navy, or Air Force) may also, but check into that by
contacting them to be sure. I understand the Reserve and National Guard
organizations are always looking for good young people to fill positions.
There were several National Guard people in my pilot training class when
I went through Pilot Training; my class was 57H... A very long time ago!
