EAA Young Eagles - Ask the Expert

Question :
How far can a military plane fly?

Answer :
Military Fighters, like the F-16, have a range of less than a 880
Nautical Miles (nm); but a bomber, like the B-52, has a range of almost
9,000 nm. So the range of military planes depends on the mission it was
designed for. Military Transports, like the C-5, have a range of about
3,000nm, the C-141 has the range of 2550 nm, and the C-130 range of 4250 nm.
Next time you visit a library, pick up "Jane's Aircraft Recognition
Guide", "Aircraft of the World", and "The Observer's Book of Aircraft." These books have tons of information on hundreds of Civil and Military Aircraft... so it would be good to 'check it out'.
