Last Thursday an EF1 Tornado touched down on the airport
where the Sun ’n Fun Fly-In was being held in Lakeland,
Florida. Almost 50 aircraft were damaged or destroyed but no
one was seriously hurt. The weather was sunny over the
weekend as heavy crowds watched the U.S. Navy Blue Angels

the aerobatic and warbirds air show performers.

Tyler's
Tailwind
Spring is here! The snow is melting, and April showers
will soon bring May flowers. So what does that mean? Young
Eagles events are just around the corner! As pilots we have to
ready our planes, and for some of us we need to get current,
especially those of us up north who may not have flown all
winter. Pilots need to be prepared for that big day. It's a
day that as a kid I loved, and I know to other kids it feels
like Christmas Day during summer. I've already had people ask
me about our Young Eagles events. It helps when you have
coordinators like Tom and Jane Faussett and Dick Foster who
spend all year planning so you'll have the information to
share with people when they ask for it. We need to spend time
to prepare for our events. Pick a day, then post it on the
Calendar of Events at EAA.org.
If you need a day, International Young Eagles Day is June 11
this year.
